When we started working with Carey, we had no savings, mediocre credit and some credit card debt. We never seemed to have enough money, and paid bills erratically, often incurring late fees. We had just bought our first house (at an elevated interest rate, due to our credit), but I wasn’t completely sure we could keep it, or could afford to maintain it, when big expenses arose. My greatest regret was that we rarely had any money to give when others were in need. We knew we were doing it wrong, but felt like we didn’t know where to start.
Last year, we needed a new roof, the year before, a driveway. We easily were able to adjust for those. It’s a joy that when kids go on missions trips, or we are aware of a young mom in trouble, we are well able to donate. We refinanced the house (our last debt) to a very low interest rate as our credit is excellent.
There is such freedom in God being Master of our money. Thanks to Carey and Andrea and the principles they taught us, we have a much healthier financial life.
